It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Margaret Dolinger Sowder (Lynchburg, Virginia), born in Bluefield, West Virginia, who passed away on August 16, 2018, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband Joe Shelor Sowder; her siblings, Mary Louise Thorne and William Hughes Dolinger; and her son-in-law Frederick Victor Brooks. She is survived by: her children, Michael Sowder, Ann Sowder (Michael Huerta), Marty Brooks, Jim Sowder (Suzy) and Bill Sowder (Lynn); her grandchildren, Emily Brooks, Matthew Huerta, Helena Sowder and Jake Sowder; and her sister Bettye Jo Dunfee of Proctorville.
In lieu of flowers, she requested donations be made to either the Calvary Baptist Church or to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation (cff.org - in honor of her grandson Jake Sowder).
