She was predeceased by: her spouse Freddie Mays Sr.; her sons, Rudy Burford, Clifton Burford and Robert Lee Burford; and her siblings, Marion Miller and Clement Brown.
She is survived by: her children, Gwen Thomas, Phyllis Jackson, Ray Charles Burford, Gloria Smith, Deborah Gale, Marilyn Mays and Kathleen Barbour. She is also survived by two sisters, two brothers-in-law, 36 grandchildren and great grandchildren, and a host of devoted nephews, nieces, loved ones and caring friends.
