She was predeceased by: her parents, Eugene N. Cofflin and Geneva M. Cofflin; and her husband Curtis "Boopie" Buford Lakes. She is survived by: her son Kevin W. Lakes (Emily); her grandchildren, Jason Wells, Heather Wells, Kevin Lakes, Jr. (Justine), Hailey Lakes Surratt (Austin) and John Mitchell Marks; and her siblings, Blacky Cofflin and Barbara Sain. She is also survived by eight great grandchildren.

A graveside service was held on Monday, November 18th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Fort Hill Memorial Park (5196 Fort Ave, Lynchburg, VA 24502).
