He is survived by: his wife Susan Kathryn Bedel Sapyta; his children, Kathryn Susan Winkelmann (Karl), Elizabeth Jane Whiting (Jeff) and Joseph Bedel Sapyta; and his grandchildren, Karley Susan Winkelmann, Alyson Elizabeth Winkelmann, Madyson Rose Whiting and Samuel Patrick Sapyta.
