It is with great sadness that we announce the death of John Payne Pickford Sr. of Lynchburg, Virginia, who passed away on December 29, 2024, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Herbert Allan Pickford, Sr. and Helen Hall Pickford; and his brother Herbert A. Pickford, III. He is survived by: his wife Mae Goodman Pickford; his sons, John P. Pickford, Jr. and William H. Pickford; his siblings, William Gale Pickford (Rebecca), Helen Daley and Margaret Lyles (Harold); and his sister-in-law Ann Pickford. He is also survived by loving nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 25th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the St. Paul's Episcopal Church (605 Clay St, Lynchburg, VA 24504).
