He was predeceased by: his parents, Charlie T. Powers and Betty E. Rogers. He is survived by: his siblings, Charlie, Roy, Ray, Jack, Ralph and Ted; his sons, Ricky Powers (Judy) of Lynchburg and Danny Powers (Betty) of Forest; his grandsons, Matthew Powers (Erica), Andrew Powers, Benjamin Powers and David Powers; and his great grandchildren, Sean Fields, Reese Worrell and Riker Powers. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or a charity of your choice in John's memory.
