With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Jimmie Rodgers of Lynchburg, Virginia, who passed away on January 19, 2025 at the age of 75. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Jimmie Rodgers to pay them a last tribute.
He was predeceased by: his mother Marjorie Jean Moore; and his wife Patricia Gayle Brown Rodgers. He is survived by: his children, Antonio Rodgers (Avis) of Danville, VA, Jamaal Rodgers and Sherita Gregory of Lynchburg, VA; his stepdaughter Sherry Whittle of Danville, VA; his siblings, Janice Logan (Orlando), Gloria Moore, Angela James of Danville, VA, Sandra Mitchell of Hillsboro, NC, Sharon Hairston of New York, Larry Moore (Brenda) of Danville, VA, Gary Moore of Danville, VA, James Morris of Danville, VA, Van Gibson of Danville, VA and Cazzie Moore (Marion) of Durham, NC.; and his close friend Patricia Gregory. He is also survived by grandchildren, nieces, nephews, friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 24th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Norris Funeral Services & Crematory - Mount Hermon Chapel (3995 Franklin Turnpike, Danville, VA 24540). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 25th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
Jimmie asked that there be no visitation nor a set up at the home and he asked instead if you'd like to honor him, to donate to the Alan B. Pearson Cancer Center and/or direct cards and flowers to Norris Funeral Services c/o Sherita Gregory.
