Though James may no longer walk beside us, his memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those James touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In his absence, his spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
He was predeceased by: his mother Eugenia Williamson; his wife Laura Williamson; and his children, Vern Williamson and Starr Williamson. He is survived by: his girlfriend Peggy Mays; his children, Charles H. Mays II and Treva Satterfield (Lawrence); his grandchildren, Bill Brooks, Dakota Goodman and Tristan Satterfield; and his great grandchildren, Daniel Roc Satterfield and Justice Thomas Goodman.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 26th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory (220 Breezewood Dr, Lynchburg, VA 24502). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 27th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
