He is survived by: his wife Dana; his children, Jessica Bates (Tarrel) and James "Tré" Bates, III (Lynora); his sister Mary B. Telele; his nephew Daniel Telele; his uncle Frank; and his aunt Kat Brown. He is also survived by his family, friends.
