He was predeceased by: his wife Audrey Cruey Whitt; and his parents, Neil Whitt and Hazel Whitt. He is survived by: his children, Jamie Moore (Meryl), Jeffrey Whitt (Jill) and Jonathan Whitt (Jennifer); and his siblings, Molly and Fred (Lucille). He is also survived by seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Friday, December 27th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Heritage Funeral Service and Crematory (427 Graves Mill Rd, Lynchburg, VA 24502). A funeral service was held on Friday, December 27th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Forest Family Fellowship, James' home church, where his son, Rev. Jeffrey Whitt is pastor.
