He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Bade and Evelyn Suddith Bade. He is survived by: his daughters, Lindsay Bade and Whitney Bade; his sisters, Shirley Duff and Bonnie Slayton (Chuck); and his nieces and nephews, Cris Duff, Jeff Duff, Gene Duff, Sonya Tarlton, Sean Slayton, Daisy, Rosie, Laney and Reggie.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Legion Post 16, 1301 Greenview Dr., Lynchburg, Virginia 24502.
