He was predeceased by: his parents, Elbert North Thomas and Maggie Guill Thomas; and his brothers, Ray, Clayton and Marvin Thomas.
He is survived by: his wife Shirley Thomas; his children, Debbie Shott (Mike Shott), Fred Thomas, Jr., Lisa Liskey and Jennifer Blankenship (Scott Blankenship); his great grandchildren, Wendy Thomas (Anthony Brent), Brooke King (Eric King), Christopher Parker (Jennifer Parker), Whitney Slahetka (Nic Slahetka), Madeline Blankenship, Sydnie Thomas (Will Huffman) and Samuel Blankenship; his brother Herman Thomas (Sue); and also, Daly, Evans Brent, Ryan, Emily, Molly King, Brady, Frankie Parker, Logan, Luke Slahetka and Myrtle Duck (Kenneth). He is also survived by seven grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Saturday, February 15th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Heritage Funeral Service & Crematory (427 Graves Mill Rd, Lynchburg, VA 24502).
In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations made to The Miller Home, 2134 Westerly Drive, Lynchburg, VA 24501.
