With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Emmett Thurston Kidd Jr. of Lynchburg, Virginia, who passed away on August 13, 2024 at the age of 89. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Emmett Thurston Kidd, Sr. and Lillian May Wright Kidd; and his wife Mary Margaret DeJarnette Kidd. He is survived by: his daughters, Teresa Schmitt (Marshall) and Karen Ponish (John); his grandchildren, Jason Schmitt (Amanda), Jennifer Schmitt, Kristin Trick (Danny), Haden Ponish (Katelyn) and Kaitlin Collins (Joseph); his great grandchildren, Nora Schmitt and Brie Trick; and his close friend Shirley Beahm.
