Edgar Lee Graves Obituary
We are sad to announce that on April 3, 2025, at the age of 70, Edgar Lee Graves of Lynchburg, Virginia, born in Ripley, Mississippi passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Luther Edgar Graves and Avie Lee Hill Graves. He is survived by: his wife Marilyn Lewis Graves; his children, Adam Graves, Lucy Buckley and Rachel Graves; his children-in-law, Allison Graves, Jonathan Buckley and Andrew Geraghty; his grandchildren, Morgan Graves, Madison Graves, Michael Graves, Tilly Buckley, Lewis Buckley and Oliver Geraghty; and his sister Marilyn Graves Dedeaux (Ed). He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation was held on Saturday, April 5th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Calvary Baptist Church (20957 Timberlake Rd, Lynchburg, VA 24502). A memorial service was held on Saturday, April 5th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly invites you to honor Eddie's memory by contributing to the Graves-Lewis Endowed Scholarship, supporting ministerial and nursing students at Mississippi College.
