He is survived by: his mother Matilda Hunter (Tillie); his children, Tia Burford and Tyler Burford; the parent of his children Erleen Burford; his aunt Betty Burford (Warner Burford); and his close friend Laura Shannon. He is also survived by many cousins and friends.

In lieu of flowers, Dana wishes memorials to go to the Art Department at Brookville High School, 100 Laxton Road, Lynchburg, VA 24502.
