She was predeceased by: her spouse Reuben Earl Lindsay; her parents, Jake Anthony Burnett and Isabel Cofer Burnett; and her brothers, Harold Berkley Burnett and Albert Anthony Burnett.

She is survived by: her children, Shirley Evans and Michael Lindsay; her grandchildren, Terrie Newby, Kris Newby, Sherrie Newby and Jeremy Hughes; and her sister Frances Burnett Omasta. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
