He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Kenneth and Evelyn Viola Long (Harris); his wife Linda Lee Long (Schultz); his brothers, R. Earl Long and Charles C. Long; and his brothers-in-law, Earl W. Schultz Jr. and Aubrey M. Schultz.
He is survived by: his daughters, Carla L. (Donald T. Sloan) of Lynchburg, Virginia and Evangeline F. (Donald H. Alban Jr.) of Forest; his grandchildren, John-Wesley G. (Sofia E.), Abigail E. Alban, Annelise J. Alban, Elaina E. Alban and Donald H. Alban III; his siblings, K. Wayne Long and D. Faith Scolnick (Long); and his brother-in-law Roger L. Schultz. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life was held on Saturday, November 9th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Pate Chapel at Thomas Road Baptist Church (1 Mountain View Rd, Lynchburg, VA 24502).
