She was predeceased by: her parents, Baxter Sorrels and Ella Flint Sorrels; and her husband Clifton Burks Powell Jr. (Pete). She is survived by: her sons, Dennis K. Powell (Diane) and Steven E. Powell (Melinda); and her grandchildren, Ryan G. Powell, Dr. Rebecca P. Doherty (Chris) and Megan J. Powell. She is also survived by three great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Friday, November 1st 2024 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Heritage Funeral Service & Crematory (427 Graves Mill Rd, Lynchburg, VA 24502). A funeral service was held on Friday, November 1st 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
