Anne Overstreet Smiley Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Anne Overstreet Smiley of Lynchburg, Virginia, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on December 11, 2024 at the age of 85. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Earl Pendleton Overstreet and Elsie Shelton Overstreet; her husband David Richard Smiley; and her brother Wendell Lee Overstreet. She is survived by: her children, Arthur B. Dodd, III of Lynchburg, Michael O. Dodd (Jackie) of New Bern, NC. and Debby D. Diffenbaugh (Jon) of Chocowinity, NC; her stepson Jeffrey R. Smiley (Kathy Snider) of Bluefield, WV; the father of her children Arthur B. Dodd, Jr. of Madison Heights; her grandchildren, Tony Diffenbaugh (Megan), Gretchen Long (Corey), Ethan Diffenbaugh (Hanna) and Delaney Dodd (Austin Long); and her great grandchildren, Peyton Rose Diffenbaugh, Gavin A. Long, Genevieve G. Long, Jessie Gray Diffenbaugh and Hope Anne Diffenbaugh.
Visitation was held on Friday, December 20th 2024 at 12:00 PM at the Whitten Monelison Chapel (3966 S Amherst Hwy, Madison Heights, VA 24572). A celebration of life was held on Friday, December 20th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
