He is survived by: his wife Jean Heelan Burden; his children, Ellen Falkenstein (Bob), John Burden, Jr. and Molly Smith (Rick); his grandchildren, Kiley Falkenstein (Dillion Wilcox) and Ean Falkenstein (Mackinzie); his children, Laura Burden Wills (Jared), Joseph and Daniel Burden; the mother of his children Carrie Marie; his children, Jeanne Smith Dunn (Joey), Matthew, Timothy, Sarah, Patrick, Veronica, Kelly, William Smith, Maddy Curtis Vencil (Nate), Grace Figueroa (Jesus) and Honorary; his great grandchildren, Aubree Michele Wilcox, Jaxtyn Ray Falkenstein, Camryn Grace Dunn, Adlenia Faye Figueroa, Barbara Jean Vencil, Elenora Taylor Dunn (Nora) and Ellyana Dee Falkenstein; and his siblings, Connie Russell (John), Mary Lynne Mouser, Jack Heelan (Jackie), Peter Heelan (Bertha), Jim Heelan (Deidre), Sandy Heelan and Judy Burden. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
During the months of the Pandemic in 2020, Jack finished writing his book "Stories of My Life", and it was published in 2021.
