It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Vergie McKinley Shelton Sr. (Louisa, Virginia), who passed away on November 13, 2018, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parent Charlie O. Shelton; his son Conrad Shelton; his grandson Dustin Shelton; and his siblings, Catherine Shelton, Shirley Smith, Oscar, Clarence, Woodrow and Joseph Shelton.
He is survived by: his parent Emma L. Shelton; his wife Eva Shelton; and his children, Vergie Shelton Jr. of Austin, Cherita Bates, Brenda Thompson, Alice Payne, Deacon Eva Payne (Norman), Susan Derricott (Dennis), Deacon Wayne Shelton (Geraldine) and Gerard Shelton. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
