She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, William Clyde and Ada Catherine Smiley (Craig); her husband Merle A. Desper; her sister Mary Anne Stockmar; her daughters, Cathy Desper (Hyde Kerr) of Staunton and Vicki Mader (Johnny) of Staunton; her grandchildren, Ashlee VanFossen Sragovitz (Ben), Aaron VanFossen and Lessley Mader (Myriam Saenz-Mader); her great grandchildren, Taylor Brooke Sragovitz, Benjamin Colt Sragovitz and Benjamin Scott Stagner; her pets, Emma and George; and also Gail Ferguson.
The graveside service in Thornrose Cemetery will be held privately because of COVID-19 restrictions, but it will also be broadcast at 7 p. m. Tuesday, November 17 on the bearfuneralhome. com website.
