He was predeceased by: his parents, Malcolm E. Mason Jr. and Marion McCraw Mason; and his brother Malcolm E. Mason III. He is survived by: his wife Debbie; his daughters, Jennifer Guild (Shane) and Christina Mason; his grandchildren, Taylor, Madison, Nolan and Audrey; his sisters, Marion Turner and Patricia Holland (Douglas); and his sister-in-law Patricia Mason Bell (Julian).

In lieu of flowers, anyone who wishes to honor his memory is encouraged to plant a daylily in their yard and enjoy looking at the blooms year after year just, as he did.
