In loving memory of James Edward Duerson Sr. (Louisa, Virginia), who departed this world on December 26, 2024 at the age of 97. James Edward leaves behind a legacy remembered by family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Virgil Duerson and Cassie Duerson; his siblings, Ann Duerson Grant (Mercer), Hilda Duerson Miller and David V. Duerson; and his son-in-law Tommy Evans.
He is survived by: his wife Dorothy Irene Hart; his children, Irene D. Luck (Tommy), Jimmy Duerson (Chris), Garnett Duerson (Janis) and Donna Duerson-Evans; his grandchildren, Timmy Luck (Samantha), John Luck (Katherine), Andrew Lunsford (Haley), Adam Lunsford, Garrett Duerson and Cassie Duerson; his great grandchildren, Chassy Groome, Piper Luck and Owynn Luck; and his siblings-in-law, Betty Jane Duerson and Marty Hart (Pam). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Monday, December 30th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Elk Creek Baptist Church (5916 Kentucky Springs Rd, Bumpass, VA 23024). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, December 31st 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
