He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry W. Shifflett and Ruby Gowl Shifflett; his sons, David and Steven Shifflett; and his siblings, Dorothy Moyers, Otis and David Shifflett.
He is survived by: his wife Verna Jean Stovall Shifflett; his son Donald L. Shifflett; his siblings, Harry Shifflett (Kat) and Carolyn Kontsis (Dino) of Louisa, VA; and his grandchildren, Amanda Shifflett Medlin and Eric Shifflett of Rutherfordton, NC. He is also survived by eight great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
