It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Barbara Jean Hood (Louisa, Virginia), born in Saranac Lake, New York, who passed away on July 7, 2020, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, George Theodore and Nora Mae Shumate (Huffman); her children, Brenda Hood, Linda Kilmer and Alan Hood; and her siblings, Donald, Lloyd, Gordon Shumate, Lucille Scott, Dorothy Hall and Gloria Butts (Barbara).
She is survived by: her sons, Ricky J. Kilmer (Teresa) of Culpeper and Robin Glen Hood (Kadi) of Bothell, Washington; her daughter-in-law Sarah Dawson Hood; her sister Jo-Ann Ferryman of Birmingham, Michigan; and her grandchildren, Jennifer McCullen, Eric Kilmer (Cynthia), Michael Brostek, Robin Lowry Hood, David Brostek, Lily Brostek, Lillian Hood, Virginia Hood, Rosemary Hood and Olivia Hood.
