She was predeceased by: her parents, Julia Harding Sisson and Eugene Carlton Sisson; and her siblings, Herbert Sisson, Eddie Sisson, Raymond Sisson, Margaret Walker, Booker Sisson and Delois Atkins.
She is survived by: her husband Leonard Newsome; her children, Carolyn Beasley (Rob), Timmy Newsome (Heather), Douglas Newsome (Amy) and Amanda Renton; and her sister Henrietta Newsome (Louis).
