He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Woodson Compton and Mary Alice Francis Compton. He is survived by: his wife Judy H. Compton; and his children, Jennie C. Compton, Merry A. Bettles, Debra Dickerson, Steven Ayscue and Rick Compton. He is also survived by twenty grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
