With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Maxine Mattox of Long Island, Virginia, born in Lynchburg, Virginia, who passed away on August 19, 2021 at the age of 75. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Claude Arnold Thurman and Lorene Talbott Thurman; and her siblings, Ronnie Thurman, Johnny Thurman and Cathy Thurman.
She is survived by: her husband Gene Mattox; her children, Marty Mattox of Long Island, Jamie Mattox of Long Island, Audrey Mattox of Long Island and Kimberly Mattox of Long Island; and her brothers, Kenny Thurman of Hurt and Claude "Buttercup" Thurman of Altavista. She is also survived by six grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren.
