It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James Ernest Murdock of Locust Grove, Virginia, born in Mullins, South Carolina, who passed away on January 27, 2023, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Alma Murdock and Ernest Murdock; and his sisters, Helen, Marie, Rosalie and Doris.
He is survived by: his wife Barbara Flenner of Locust Grove, VA; his children, James Murdock Jr. (Terry) of Fredericksburg, VA, Jayme Becker (Mel) of Fredericksburg, VA and Cindy Shepard (Mark) of Locust Grove, VA; his grandchildren, Ginny Cox, Kelsey Howald (Nick), Caitlin Becker, Shannon Becker-Bolton (Andrew), Megan Becker, Tanner Shepard and Jennifer Shepard; his great grandchildren, James Hoover, Norea Nolte and Hannah Howald; and his brother Bill Murdock of Swansboro, NC. He is also survived by numerous nephews and nieces.
