He is survived by: his mother Jean "Pat" Atkins; his wife Leitha Burke Atkins; his daughters, Eliza K. Richards (Phillip F. Richards) and Madelyn K. Atkins; and his siblings, James P. Atkins (Susan Graves) and Kim D. Atkins.
