He was loved and cherished by many people including: his spouse Katherine Grace Merritt (Bianco); his sister Patricia Logan (Jim); his sons, Bernie Jr. and Mark; his granddaughters, Caitlin Wilson (Pat) and Casey Merritt; and his sister Shirley Mae Merritt. He was also cherished by several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations to be made in Bernie's name to the Shriners Hospital for Children or the Lake of the Woods Church.
