With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Kay Shirkey of Linville, Virginia, who passed away on May 9, 2021 at the age of 75. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Kay Shirkey to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Austin Thomas and Oria Thomas of Stanley, Virginia.. She is survived by: her husband Roger; her stepdaughters, Tammy Fenton (Farley) of Bridgewater and Jeannie Petit (Kevin) of Singers Glen; her grandchildren, Ted Petit (Chelsi), Jake Petit (Lindsey Conley) and Gracie Armstrong; her siblings, Reccy Thomas (Wilma) of Bridgewater, Joe Thomas (Cheri) of Luray, Sherly Thomas (Tig) of Luray, John Thomas (Carrie) of Stuarts Draft and Eileen McQuillan (Calvin) of Luray; her cousin Debbie Lambert; her close friends, H. D. and Beverly Moyers; and her son Darin. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Social distancing will be practiced and masks required for all who attend.
