It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Helena Sibyl Hitt Dwyer Charles (Lignum, Virginia), who passed away on August 28, 2018, at the age of 99, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parent Johnny Jackson Hitt; her former husband Thomas E. Charles; her children, Elizabeth "Betty" Hilton, Arthur E. Dwyer and George E. Dwyer, Jr.; her granddaughter Tina H. Julian; and her siblings, Gladys Anderson, Harold Hitt, Tommy Hitt, Frank Hitt, Peggy Eline, Richard Hitt, Howard Hitt and Hazel Butler.
She is survived by: her parent Laurelia Carrico Hitt; her son Richard D. Dwyer (Carolyn) of Elkwood; and her daughter-in-law Nancy J. Dwyer of Culpeper. She is also survived by six grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; 10 great great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
