It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Lovey Mahoney (Lexington, Virginia), born in Staunton, Virginia, who passed away on March 11, 2018, at the age of 97, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Lewis J. and Mary Isabel Cook (Cochran); her sister Doris C. Null; and also Wayne Collier. She is survived by: her spouse Cecil Guy Mahoney; her daughter Susan Mahoney Alexander; her son-in-law Robert M. Alexander of Seaford; her sisters, Betty C. Whitmore of Staunton, VA. and Billie Jean Banks of Staunton, VA.; her grandson Robert M. Alexander; and also Sarah Elizabeth Alexander Barrett (Liam).
She is also survived by a grandson, Robert M. Alexander, " and wife Ellen of Toano, VA; a granddaughter Sarah Elizabeth Alexander Barrett and husband Liam; a great grandson Jackson Alexander Barrett of Carlsbad, Ca; two nieces Patricia Collier of Free Union, Va and Beth Lobb of Staunton, Va and their children Lucy Collier, Grady Collier, Kaitlyn Lobb, and Will Lobb. A graveside service will be conducted at Noon on Friday, March 16, 2017. In Stonewall Jackson Cemetery, Lexington, Va., by Dr. William Klein.
