He is survived by: his children, Betsy Shipe of Ashburn, VA and John T. Shipe II (Barbara) of Thornburg, VA; his grandchildren, Ryan M. Nestor (Selene), Connor and Lindsey (Nathan); his great grandchildren, April and Levi; and his sister Audrey Campbell.
