He is survived by: his children, Alicia Nelson, Shaun Dennis of Kernersville, Amanda Gilliland, Richard Gilliland of Granite Falls, Angela Scarberry and Bradley Pennell of Hickory; his grandchildren, Bryce Nelson, Kayden Gilliland, Emma Nelson, Clayton Gilliland, Lawson Gilliland, Adrian Pennell and Amelia Pennell; and his siblings, Henrietta Scarberry Warner of Lebanon, Ellen Mae White (Spencer Jr.) of Lebanon, Virginia, Jesse Dean Scarberry of St. Paul, Vernon Lee Scarberry (Nancy) of Lebanon, Lloyd Eddie Scarberry (Angie) of High Point and Albert Leon Scarberry (Evelyn) of North Carolina. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
