He was predeceased by : his parents, Luther M. Hankins and Sarah Grace Hankins of Baptist Valley; and his sisters, Verna Hankins, Alma Hankins and Marie Hankins.

He is survived by : his wife Gwen B. Hankins; his children, Laura Vencill (Robert) of Belfast, VA and Jonathan Hankins (Jessica) of Yardley, PA; and his grandchildren, Hadley Grace Hankins and Paul Vencill IV.
