She is survived by: her children, Eddie Carter, Richard Hicks, Marice Hicks, David Hicks, Artie Hicks, George Freeman Hicks, Nellie Makeeta Wray Austin and Alita Bateman Cleaton; and her sister Mary Emma Carter of New Jersey. She is also survived by Three sisters and one brother.
