He is survived by: his wife Joan Davis of Chester, PA.; his children, Tina of Lawrenceville, VA, Belinda of Lawrenceville, VA, Jerry of Lawrenceville, VA, Otis Avans of Lawrenceville, VA, Daryl of Chester, PA, Danyel Davis of Chester, PA, Tabitha Meltzer of Philadelphia, PA, Khalil of Philadelphia, PA, Khalee Avans of Philadelphia, PA and Cierra Armstrong of Philadelphia, PA; his siblings, Daisy Avans of Freeman, VA, Melvin Avans (Thereasa) of Virginia Beach, VA and Joseph Avans; his brothers-in-law, Charles Hite and Sanford Walker; and his niece Jacqueline Carrington. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Due to the pandemic of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) and to prevent the spread of any potential illness, services for Mr. Avans will be private.
