He was predeceased by: his parents, Harvie Clary and Annie Clary; his wife Elsie Buckner Clary; his siblings, Randolph, Eugene Clary, Elsie Walton and Barbara Clary; and his sons-in-law, Joseph Wayne Grimsley, Jr. and Wayne Yates, Jr..

He is survived by: his daughters, Rhonda Yates Grimsley and Andrea Walker (Will); his granddaughters, Rachel and Madelyn Walker; and his siblings, Clarence "Teeny" Clary, Phyllis Martin and Audrey Yeager. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
