He was predeceased by: his parents, John Henry and Bettie Mae Starke Seward; his son Matthew; and his siblings, John Herbert, Jessie Leon Seward, Mamie Green, Mary Williams and Maxine Jones.
He is survived by: his children, Gloria Blackmon (Jerome), Calvin Seward (Evelyn), Lois Malone (Phillip), Debbie Taylor, George Seward (Emma) and Rev. Alonzo Seward (Tina); his siblings, Maude, Martha Seward (Polly), Maxie Seward (Edith) of Philadelphia, PA, Clyde Seward of Oxon Hill, MD, Randolph Seward (Forestville, MD) and Edward Seward of Lawrenceville, VA.; his daughter-in-law Gloria Barnes Seward; his sisters-in-law, Perline Seward, Valeria Seward of Lawrenceville, VA and Blanche Seward of Johnson City, TN; and his great grandchild Aaliyah Goldsberry. He is also survived by numerous relatives and friends.
