She was predeceased by: her parents, Thelma M. Lucy and Leland Henry Lucy; her husband Donald Franklin Thomas; and her sisters, Ella Mae Piercy (Rainey), Ann Lucy Gwaltney (William) and Elsie L. Cline (Bill).

She is survived by: her stepmother Nellie Pearson Lucy (Grand); her sons, Donny Thomas (Joyce), Mike Thomas (Abbe) and Barry Thomas (Janet); her grandchildren, Lyndsay Buchanan (Jason), Danny Thomas (Brittany), Justin Thomas and J. R. Thomas; and her great grandchildren, Faith Buchanan, Kayelee Buchanan, Lee Ann Thomas and Aerin Thomas. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Liberty Church, Lawrenceville Volunteer Fire Department, or the Brunswick County Cancer Association.
