He was predeceased by: his parents, Belton Mae and Fannie Mae; his children, Annette Bethea and Allan Smith; his parents-in-law, Raymond and Willie Mae Randolph; and his siblings, Carolyn David, Robert Bethea, Kenny "Fatman" Bethea, Mike Bennett Bethea and Eugene Bethea.
He is survived by: his wife Lillie; his children, James (Lydia) of Arizona, Diane (Tony) of High Point, NC., LaShaurne of Dothan, AL and Curtis (Faith) of Severn, MD.; his siblings, Mary McKinnon of Greensboro, NC, Flora Calderon of Elmira, NY, Christina (Waldo) of Bennettsville, SC, Jimmy Ray Bethea (Linda) of Charlotte, NC, Nelson Bethea and James Wayne Bethea of Parkton, NC.; and his siblings-in-law, Deloris, Jean Colbert of Baltimore, MD, James Bright South Hill and Franklin Bright Baltimore, MD (Blondie). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, friends.
