He was predeceased by: his former wife Ruth Tanner; and his brothers, Henry, Evans and Marvin Tanner. He is survived by: his daughters, Rebecca Tanner Williams (Steve) of Roanoke and Anne Tanner Stuart (Ken) of Richmond; his grandchildren, Sam, Tanner, Grace, Elle and Leigh; his sister-in-law Christine Tanner of La Crosse; and his nephews, Dan of La Crosse, Bob of La Crosse and Tom Tanner of La Crosse.
