It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Essie Mae Sturdivant (La Crosse, Virginia), who passed away on April 4, 2021, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, William Minor Moore and Lilly Ragland Moore; her husband Arnie Sturdivant; her children, Brenda Ann Walker and Barry Sturdivant; and her grandchildren, Jeremy Austin and Edrina Sturdivant.
She is survived by: her children, Ervin Moore (Patricia) of La Crosse, VA, Esther Sturdivant (Pattie Newell), George Anderson of Henderson, NC, Elizabeth Austin (William Sturdivant), Earl Sturdivant (Deloris) of Baltimore, MD and Jerry Sturdivant (Barbara Weddington) of South Hill, VA; and her great great grandchild Sharnine Brown. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, and many that called her "grandma"; one step-grandchild; twenty-nine great grand-children.
All attendees must wear a face covering and practice social distancing.
