She was predeceased by: her parents, Johnny Robinson and Geneva Fields Robinson; her husband Vincent H. Townes; her sons, Vincent L. Townes and Leon D. Townes; and her brothers, Elijah Robinson and Norman Robinson.
She is survived by: her children, Jeffrey M. Townes (Dorothy) of Buffalo Junction, VA, Alvin L. Townes (Gayle) of South Hill, VA, Richard Townes (Jeanine) of South Hill, VA, Larry D. Townes (Jannie) of Boydton, VA and Trentace Hutcherson of Charlotte, NC; and her sister Margaret Townes of Irvington, NJ. She is also survived by thirteen grandchildren, twenty-two great-grandchildren.
