He was predeceased by: his brother Butch Leffell; and his father Willie Leffell. He is survived by: his wife Margaret; his son Curt Hetherington (Katie); his stepdaughters, Katie Alderman (Austin) and Kendall Floyd (Jeremy); his mother Shirley Leffell; his sister Lynette Jobe; and his sister-in-law Becky Leffell. He is also survived by six grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Friday, December 20th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Oakey's Vinton Chapel. A funeral service was held on Saturday, December 21st 2024 at 10:00 AM at the Blue Ridge Baptist Church (2410 Hardy Rd, Vinton, VA 24179). A burial was held on Saturday, December 21st 2024 at the Mountain View Cemetery (1401 Mountain View Rd, Vinton, VA 24179).
