He was predeceased by: his parents, William H. Smith, Sr. and Margaret Connor Smith; and his brothers, Albert Smith and James L. Smith. He is survived by: his wife Grace Lackert Smith; his children, William R. Smith (Linda) of Georgia, Stephen Smith (Terry) of Weems, Brian Smith (Annette) of Colorado and Deborah Smith of Weems; his grandchildren, Tim Smith, Samantha Kuehler Matthew Smith (Virginia), Sarah Smith, Ryan Smith, Alex Smith and Devonte Taylor; his great grandchildren, Mia Smith, Leo Taylor, R. J. Smith, Addison Lee Smith and Delaney Rae Smith; and his siblings, Jean Ellen Oquinn (Mike) of Tappahannock, Elizabeth "Sissy" Davis of Pennsylvania, Barbara Smith of Callao and Leroy Smith (Katherine) of Callao. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
