He was predeceased by: his parents, T. H. Birdsong, Jr. and Virginia Wishart Birdsong; and his former wives, Annette Jones Birdsong and Constance Bradshaw Birdsong. He is survived by: his wife Jane M. Birdsong; his children, Thomas H. Birdsong, IV, Virginia Corinne Birdsong Winburn and Warren L. Birdsong (Penny); his grandchildren, Thomas Mills Winburn, Christianna Mills Johnson and Japheth Saecker, Jr.; his great grandchildren, Henry, Emaline and George Johnson; his stepdaughter Susan F. Smither; his stepgrandchildren, Gretchen M. Smither and Benjamin H. Smither (Melanie); his great grandchild Maxwell H. Smither; and his stepson Richard H. Bradshaw.

Due to the Coronavirus, a church service is inadvisable at this time.
